What If..... ?
I cannot believe that this constantly inquiring mind, marvelous imagination, lovingly caring person will end at the cemetery. I have no doubt that, beyond the curtain we call death, each of us will be the person we have been in the process of becoming.
But what if we are mistaken? What if the Bible is no more than a collection of ancient stories, including some obsolete rules that do not apply in today's world? What if God says "You have done what you could - or would. This is the end of your road. Your death day is the end of your existence as a person. It is time to give your space to someone else?" Your only comfort, if you can call it that, would be that dead meat no longer suffers pain, worry, or anything else.
NO. I can never believe our God is like that. However, there are many moral people who do. Do you truly try your best to live according to the "Golden Rule" (treat others as you want to be treated) or the more difficult, but much better "Jesus Way" (love even your enemies and pray for them; return good for evil)? If so, what is your main motive? Is it to increase the likelihood of your living forever in a happier place? Or, is it to help in the making of a better world, a better local community, here and now?
Who ever said that life after retirement slows down? Our Senior Adults have more activity than most students. Come see what you can do with those few hours you can find during the month.
